We’ve put together a spectacular tour of Hartford’s “Little Italy and Beyond” with stops at four original authentic Italian destinations - a pasta factory, an Italian market, a famed Italian restaurant and a pastry shop. There will be cooking demonstrations and tastings at every stop with a sit-down feast of Italian specialties after learning from the master chef at Peppercorns Restaurant. Then it’s off to Mozzicato’s where they’re treating us to pastries, cookies, gelato and cafe.

Stop 1 - 9 am to 10:15 am - D&D Market (Watch Video)

Meet at 9 am at D&D’s new location and have some Italian specialities for breakfast. It’s a real Italian market stocked full of Italian specialties including sausages, cheeses, olive oils and an old time butcher. Learn how to use special Italian cuts of meats, fresh cheeses and other Italian specialties. Including a cooking demonstration by Prudence on how to saute thin cuts of meat “Italian Style.” 75 Wolcott Hill Rd, Wethersfield. www.danddmarket.com 860 296-3261

Stop 2 - 10:30 am to 11:15 am - Difiore Pasta

At Difiore Pasta you’ll see how they make their homemade pasta. Learn about the differences in egg based, and water based pasta, the appropriate sauces and how to cook it right. And we get to try some of their famous ravioli!  556 Franklin Ave, Hartford, CT(860) 296-1077 difiorepasta.com Google Map

Stop 3 - 11:30 am to 1:00 pm  Cooking Class & Lunch at Peppercorns
Although just outside of Little Italy’s boundaries, Peppercorns is by far the most authentic Italian restaurant in Hartford. Family owned and run the brothers Dino and Sal studied in Rome at there Uncle’s restaurant before opening award winning Peppercorns in Hartford and Piccolo Arancio in Farmington. They constantly return to Italy to bring back to Hartford authentic Italian dishes. This is an opportunity to learn the nuances of Italian cuisine direct from Italy.

Stop 4 - 1:15 am to 3:00 pm  Pastries, Gelato, Cookies, Cafe and a Dessert Demonstration at Mozzicato’s
